Aundrya B. Montgomery received her Bachelor of Science in Biology degree from Alabama State University and graduated with honors including both magna cum laude and completion of the W.E.B. DuBois Honors Program. This Alabama native is a current scholarship awardee in the Young Innovative Investigator Program (YIIP) at the Connecticut Institute for Clinical and Translational Science at UConn Health, Farmington, CT. She is on track to receive her M.S. in Biomedical Science while conducting research at the Institute for Regenerative Engineering where she is primarily focused on developing bioengineered strategies geared toward the regeneration of a human finger. In addition to her graduate studies, Aundrya actively serves as a behavioral health specialist in the Connecticut National Guard.
In 2016, she began working with the Urban League of Greater Hartford’s Young Professionals and has since then remained involved with the organization’s youth focused projects such as the Back to School Giveaway, Breakfast with Santa, and S.T.E.A.M. Career Expo. Aundrya is most interested in raising awareness of the need for diversity in the STEM field, specifically focused on the city of Hartford’s youth.
